Lumberton's Chief of Police has a Little Extra Help Around the Department
Based in Texas, we laughed when we saw this article - In Lumberton, Texas, a police department has an unusual helper. One day, lady brought injured cat to the police department. The police, however, were unable to take it in and hand it over to animal control. Part of the reason was that its leg was seriously injured. The cat escaped its good Samaritan, dashing to hide in a nearby car engine. The police chief helped get the cat out but in the process, the cat found a way into the chief's heart. After ten years and despite of the loss of a leg, Jade is a permanent fixture in the Lumberton Police Department and loved by all. See the whole story here.
E-Z Door Pull Closer
Thursday, January 21, 2010 11:48:28 PM CST
These just in - new E-Z Door Pull Closers from Swerving Earl Productions!
These door closers are just about the best thing to close any sort of residential door (interior or exterior) that we have seen in a long time.
The simple polycarbonate bars attach in seconds to any residential door and make it a snap to close the door behind you! One end loops around the door handle, the other attaches to the simple clip (which is included with each package).
These were invented out of necessity by "Swerving" Earl Hielm. Earl got tired of pinching his fingers in the door when trying to close it and came up with this clever, inexpensive device that lets anyone easily close the door without expensive retrofitting and remodeling!
Check out Earl's video where he personally demonstrates his E-Z Pull Door Closers:
TeleStik Reacher Video
Monday, November 9, 2009 8:47:18 PM CST
Well we finally got some video of these amazing TeleStik reachers in action. We saw these at the Chicago Abilities Expo and knew instantly that we HAD to carry them in our store.
These reachers are truly remarkable. First of all they don't require a lot of hand strength to use- unlike traditional reachers and grabbers that require the user to "squeeze" a handle.
Second they are really lightweight - 2.3 ounces to be exact and they are small and very, very portable.
Third they telescope from 8-34 inches long - which means you can use them for anything - from picking up something on the floor to something on a nearby table.
Fourth - and probably most importantly -they pick up just about anything (up to 1 pound). We were blown away when we say people picking up car keys, water bottles, books and cans using the TeleStik. But don't take our word for it - check out this amazing video clip!

Telestik Reachers are here
Thursday, October 22, 2009 10:08:46 AM CDT
We just got in our supply of Telestik reachers - we're working on some video so you can see these things in action but let me just say they are really, really cool. The Telestiks were designed for everyday folks and can be used by people who have limited hand stregth as there is no handle that you have to "squeeze" in order to grab something.
There are 2 models to choose from - those with more limited hand strength should look at the TS3040 and the optional hand strap. But for the price, the AD3000 is certainly a great deal. I've heard a lot from folks on these who get a couple (one for the bedside, one for the car, etc.).
Please let us know what you think - we are excited to offer this unique product.
